Bishop, California |
In May of this year my daughter and her family relocated to the beautiful mountain community of Bishop, California. This is the view as you arrive in Bishop, spectacular only begins to describe it.

Moving means packing, organizing, unpacking, chaos, and 'Sew Much More.' |
This was my space for a few weeks over the Summer. It was wonderful to be outside, enjoying the warm weather and the scenery while sewing. Neighbors smiling and waving hello as they passed by, wondering "what the heck is going on in that garage?"
A new kitchen curtain! The kitchen window sits at the sink level and has a view of the front entrance. I made it to cover half the window and lined the back with muslin for a nice look and to block out more light. We hung it with a tension rod. The blinds to this window are between the dual pane glass....how great is that???? No more cleaning blinds :)

Owls by 'Nana' |
The girls bedroom also got a new curtain. Again I lined the curtain with muslin and made it slightly longer than the average valance. The lining makes it hang much nicer and since this is a window on the front of the house it has nice curb appeal. These adorable stuffed owls were made by the girls Nana. I added buttons for them to hang from.
The curtain for the master bath window was a last minute garage sale find. My daughter purchased this table scarf for a dollar at a neighborhood garage sale. After washing it using some left over muslin this is what we came up with.
Just for fun one day we cut out shapes, stitched them together and made a running stitch to hang them together. The girls enjoyed identifying each shape as we went in and out the front door. From the kitchen window you could see them moving in the breeze. Little things like this help make a house a home.
